As we are staying more time at home, it is natural that details that used to be for later start to bother or jump in our eyes. And the “closet” is one of those items that we always want to fix, but we never have time.
Well, the time has come! To help you, we talked to Cristiane Belfiore, personal organizer and image consultant, to help us put everything in its place.
For the task to be simple, the specialist in personal organization gives us the five main steps for your cabinets to become organized and functional:
Separate what goes and what stays: look at the pieces that you like best, that you identify, that is your number and let those pieces that most value you. The ones you no longer use, you separate to give a new destination.
Categorize your clothes: in professional organization, we always try to hang as many things as possible and we need to separate them by the type of pieces: tank tops, skirts, shorts, etc.
Organize the pieces by color and frequency of use: it is always good to separate by color to have a harmony in the wardrobe and make it easy for you to locate the pieces. Make it like a box of colored pencils. If it is summer, bring what is hot forward and leave what will not be used much. And a tip: if you don’t use a particular piece in two seasons, it doesn’t have to be with you.
Delicate pieces well accommodated: These pieces like party clothes, silk etc, need to be with protective covers, boxes and bags, so we don’t have damage here.
Standardize hangers and abuse the organizers: In addition to keeping everything organized, there are hangers that are thinner and you gain space. In addition, organizers such as hives and boxes help a lot when it comes to making your closet functional.
Now, take some time out of your quarantine and start tidying up by putting the above tips into practice!
