Hi, there! I am Matheus Ilt and I do small renovations.
Since I was little, I used to go with my father to work. He is a mason, a painter, a woodworker… He does everything. So, as I grew up I learned from him that it is possible to transform places if you are a hands on person! With a lot of DIY, or do it yourself, I completely changed the first apartment I lived in. One of the styles I applied there and which I have always loved is the industrial style.
Industrial style has a rougher appearance, once its main proposal is to use items that are usually hidden as decorative elements, like piping, wiring, racks, besides “colder” materials, like metal and concrete. In my living room, for instance, my TV rack is nothing more than a steel cabinet. Another highlight in the room is the pendant lamp that I have made with a pulley, wires, an iron bird cage and a filament bulb.
My plant hangers were made out of rebars, to keep the rustic atmosphere. For the lighting, I used tube lamps on the walls and hung by their own wires over the dining table. Something that cannot be left out of this style is the apparent galvanized steel piping.
